Job Description:

On behalf of Goldwind Denmark, Nordic Talent Collab is looking for a Senior Offshore Supporting Structure Engineer.

Are you ready for an exciting journey of development? Then you might be our new Senior Offshore Supporting Structure Engineer!

Goldwind Denmark is a subsidiary of Goldwind Science & Technology Co., Ltd (Goldwind), a world leading wind turbine technology and energy solutions provider headquartered in Beijing, China. Goldwind Denmark was established in the beginning of 2016 as a dedicated R&D office and with a steady development of the product portfolio, we are dedicated to furthering the most advanced and cost-efficient wind power technology in a high quality, continually raising the bar through a steadfast commitment to innovation.

As our new Senior Offshore Supporting Structure Engineer, you will be the technical authority on the design and integrity of turbine towers and foundations (fixed-bottom and floating). You will lead complex engineering packages, make critical decisions that impact project safety and cost, and mentor the next generation of engineers. This role requires a blend of deep technical expertise, proven project leadership, and exceptional client-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Product Ownership

  • Act as technical lead / design authority for offshore wind turbine towers and interfaces with foundations, including fixed-bottom and floating structures
  • Tailor and optimise project-specific variants, from concept and FEED through detailed design, serial production, and installation support.
  • Own technical integrity and design approval of critical calculations, specifications, drawings, and product documentation.
  • Define, maintain, and govern product design philosophies, analysis methodologies, and global models in line with international codes and standards (e.g., DNV, IEC, ISO, API, Eurocodes) and internal standards.
  • Lead resolution of complex, non-standard technical challenges, including extreme and fatigue load cases, soil–structure interaction, and coupled dynamic behaviour.
  • Drive continuous design optimization and standardization to improve manufacturability, scalability, and cost competitiveness (LCoE).

Project Execution & External Interfaces

  • Serve as the primary technical interface with customers (developers), certification bodies, and internal manufacturing, procurement, and installation teams.
  • Support commercial and technical negotiations, ensuring product offerings meet customer requirements while protecting technical and commercial margins.
  • Identify and manage technical risks across product development and project execution, ensuring robust mitigation strategies are embedded in design.
  • Support bid and tender activities through preparation, review, and approval of technical proposals and deviations.

Manufacturing, Supply Chain & Installation Integration

  • Ensure designs are optimized for serial fabrication, transport, and installation, with clear consideration of supply chain capabilities and constraints.
  • Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to resolve fabrication issues and manage non-conformances.
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning phases, including resolution of site-related design issues.

Innovation & Product Strategy

  • Lead R&D and product development initiatives, including next-generation fixed-bottom and floating foundation solutions.
  • Contribute to product roadmaps, modularization strategies, and platform-based design approaches.
  • Represent the OEM in industry working groups, standardization committees, and key technical forums.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Offshore Engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in offshore wind support structure design within an OEM, contractor, or closely related environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of DNV and IEC standards, with hands-on experience applying them to serial product design.
  • Expert-level proficiency in global analysis and FEA tools for integrated, coupled analyses.
  • Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams in a product- or program-based environment.
  • Excellent communication skills across engineering, manufacturing, and commercial stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with both fixed-bottom (monopile, jacket) and floating offshore wind foundation products.
  • Proven track record in design for manufacture, assembly, transport, and installation (DfMA/T&I).
  • Programming skills (Python, MATLAB) for automation, parametric design, and product scalability.
  • Experience supporting multiple projects using standardized product platforms.
  • Exposure to full product lifecycle management, including in-service support and design updates.

Information

We prefer that you can be part of the headquarters in Aarhus, but this is not a requirement. It is expected that there will be approximately 10-15 days of travel per year.
